Job Description:
Position
Summary:
This role is responsible to support the logistics department to include scheduling appointments, monitoring order changes and communicating such in a timely manner and generating reports as required.
Here's what you'll do:
Schedule required transportation pick-up/delivery appointments (i.
e.
, backhauls) with vendors and enter required information into the traffic/logistics system(s).
Ensure timely communication via phone or email as appropriate.
Monitor order changes and the impact on the load status, which include but are not limited to modifications, cancellations, etc.
Ensure timely communication of any changes.
Work with the various departments (i.
e.
, transportation, warehouse, buyers) and external vendors regarding backhauls and delivery appointments.
Generate and distribute assigned reports, which can include but are not limited to:
department and/or vendor performance reports, appointment and order reports, etc.
Ensure adherence to company safety and sanitation policies and procedures, as well as all DOT rules and regulations.
Assist the drivers with questions or issues related to delivery appointments.
Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed Here's what you'll need:
High school diploma or GED.
College degree or college course work in Business Administration, Human Resources or related area preferred.
Good written and verbal communication skills and customer service skills; ability to interact with associates at all levels.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Must be detail-oriented, organized and able to prioritize and multi-task.
Working knowledge of logistics operations.
Proficient in MS Office (Excel and Word).
